Design Contest 10 will be a contest to create a trebuchet, something that will fling the armadillo using weight as your source of energy. I'll leave it open ended other than that, but I'd encourage you to include a description of your strong or weak points for the judging. For example, you may have a design that doesn't look pretty but gets great distance, or you may have a very interesting design that just doesn't throw it very far. I'll include your description with the voting post.

I guess the contest ends Sunday the 7th of October.

so far i have a concept for an armadilllo trebuchet that the armadillo lauches something (the rest remains a sercret) hint it uses a force bug

hmm, would it be ok to use ARedit to put overlong pieces in? because I tried to create a catapult type arm once. I figured out how to get it to move, but the arm kept breaking under it's own wieght.

Sure, use long pieces if you want. But as always, the judges may view it as "less creative" than making the arm.

For anybody who is interested, wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trebuchet has some good basic info on trebuchets. I tried doing a search for trebuchet stuff and most sites want you to buy stuff, although there are some out there with good information.

Just thought I'd post this here for anybody who had no idea what a trebuchet is.

ya... i noticed that after i posted it.... its a pretty cool concept tho.. and it works well... all i did was use teh spin force bug and added stuff to it

and yea, you are suppoused to LAUNCH the armadillo, not have an armadillo powered trebuchet.

ya... i got the point but i had that other concept also... i just forgot it was a trebuchet contest...not a fling thingy... lol.. i do have a trebuchet design tho.... but it needs a lot of work

you can make a motor that throws dillo somewhere and if ppl will like it you could win...
