ARF Contest B # 15 - Results!

Postby dudiobugtron » Mon Nov 27, 2006 6:18 am

Thanks to everyone who submitted their solutions! There are some pretty ingenious goings-on here, especially in the third level! I havent' got any screenshots of that because I don't want to spoil it for you!

ioncorpse took out the first level with this super sleek pulley system:

Most of the other entries follow this desgin - except Hyperkubus who deserves HyperKudos for pulling this off:

Kids don't try it at home!

ioncorpse also had the best solution for the second level:

I love how such a crazy contraption manages to place the armadillo in the chute with such grace!

But was that enough to edge him ahead over the other competitors? In fact, it didn't matter, as incorpse also took out the third level, only using 2 Rockets! This means he was the clear champion and absolutely trounced everyone else!!!

So,
1st prize goes to ioncorpse with a whopping 56920.
mikee7 came in 2nd with 55822, and Njaa only a few $ behind him in third. Also a big round of applause goes out to markman who was the only competitor to complete the bonus level (with a much better score than mine, I will add!)

My favourite solutions were the 2nd level ones by Njaa and markman which seemed to completely miss the goal:

But got there in the end.

I'll finish it with a final note from Hyperkubus which sums up many of the frustrations B levels are known for (and these were no exception!):

If you've given up - it would be cool if you could post your work here and see if someone can finish it off!

Armadillo should balance on the top of rocket until it reaches first rubber(done), then he goes a little bit right (done, This part you can take from my or mikee7 level, which already posted).
(Should be done)And strikes a rubber. At this moment the rocket knocks him to the left-up and he goes to the portal.

heh yeah I was thinking it would be along those lines - its a HUGE pain to tweak though because every time you move the rocket the you have to balance the dillo again!!

Sorry to be a little late here, but I just watched the solutions and ioncorpse, your rocket solution, I felt it physically when I watched it.
I'm a tweakling (any score posted by me is light, unless stated otherwise)
