ARF Contest B #14 Results

Postby darkcatalyst » Sun Nov 19, 2006 7:54 pm

Ok then...results time.

You people dissapoint me! I got three submissions...all from the same person. So, our undisputed winner is...

dudiobugtron with 30027!

Congratulations on a very elegant solution.

EDIT: I just got mark man's solution, and I think I may have gotten it late because hotmail it retarded. He came real close with 30021...well done.

I sent in my level 11/14/06 8:44 PM (according to my mail program) I guess your client sorted it as junk... I only had 30007, though, so it doesn't matter that much. Here it is, anyway....

That was a really cool solution, dudio! I thought it was a case of the undo bug when the rocket missed, but then the ball dropped down!

Waaah - looks like it was a well-contested competition after all! I was a bit worried when I saw only my solutions in the zipfile before!

Can't wait to see your solutions and Snowlord's one - thanks especially to Snowlord for posting his score or I would never have beaten it!

I was quite happy when I came up with the idea for my solution (which really should be a 'dark' solution IMO) since it illustrates clearly that there is a pretty small difference between 'out-of-boundary experiences' involving or not involving the armadillo - and yet one is dark and the other is light. Food for thought ;)

I'll post the next competition in about 10 hours; I'm at work currently and can't get to AR!!

PS: I've been waiting for a rocket-is-cheapest level for a very long time now, thanks darkcatalyst!!

While I for one am totally against "the force", I think boundary tricks are ok sometimes. dudiobugtron, your solution is clever as hell and you well deserve the medal for it!

Thanks! The tradeoff with using rope on the rocket and basket was that my end catcher was much more complicated - I kinda wish I had thought of not using rope!!!
Nice work to both markman and snowlord your solutions are pretty awesome - special mention to snowlord who did it without breaking anything!
