ARF Contest B #3 (2006-08-27 to 2006-09-02 18:00 GMT)

Hello and welcome to contest B III! This is going to be a level set contest, so highest total wins. First place solutions for individual levels will get honorable mention in the results thread.:)

When you email your solutions to bens@hevanet.com, write your total in the email, even if you are sending one level. Zips are welcome.

Please use the following naming convention: [Name]-[Score]-[Solutionname(optional)]
i.e: RayT-8000-London Bridges

If I have difficulties with your file (which has happened with two folks unfortunately :( ), I will just ask for it again. If you want a confirmation email, also write "PLEASE CONFIRM" in the email.

The standard rules apply. http://armadillo.metaclassofnil.com/for ... .php?t=232

Feel free to post (or bluff) total scores, and no individual level score posting - just write general comments. Let's see how that works.

Good Luck!

I love that rule, and I especially love the link to GMT!

And I just had a look at your first level

Nice work :!:

Thanks  :P ! Just wait till the last one  .

I did not mention anything about the force , but these particular levels do not seem to lend themselves to cheap force solutions. I suppose if there were any force solutions, they would add to a dark force total.

So, let's start with $8000.

Very interesting contest king! (Believe it or not, I had thought about doing a set of levels with each one allowing different materials for a B contest as well ;))

Nope, just the sum of my initial, squeaky-clean solutions :P

Im nowhere near that at the moment just happy enough for the dillo to sit in the home zone on top of lots of unsteady rubber.

9k+? arrrgh and I tought 8400 was good... :? you bluff! (or not)

anyway good level set... the first and third level are especially challenging!

edit : yay, just had an idea in level 1 and improve to 8750 8)

Ermm, well, after lots of tweaking, I can see why 8750 is so out of date...

I learned a thing on the third one : if you tense up elastic, it becomes cheaper... because elastic costs more proportionally to "tension fees"...

So I really improved in the 3, and like you said BFC in contest A, now I'm closer to 10k than 9k...

PS: those little end levels are neat!

Yeah, most some us old-timers learned that all the way back in classic contest #2. Which, incidentally, is also the contest that first sparked discussion of welding - and, to this date, it is also the only contest with 2 winning solutions! And the level was also made by kingofthespill ;)

[edit]
I just noticed that the second contest was less than 2 months ago! My my, how things changed since then :o

Ah yes I checked out this contest 2, nice one indeed. You did a surreal catcher on this one, the ball behave very odd!

I don't really understand what is "welding", I post what I think it is but I may be wrong.

Old-timers lol the game is 3 months old!...
