ARFC B 154 - Warehouse Results

Postby mx781 » Mon Sep 07, 2009 6:09 pm

Here I am, bringing you the results of the last B contest, Warehouse. Quite a bunch of solutions, using different constructions and methods, so looks like a success to me! :)

At some point in the first few days of the contest, Votart sent me a nice inside light solution, which utilized the big wheel in the center of the level. While it scored only 2680, I managed to tweak it to 2718, which would have guaranteed a win in the contest. So good job Votart, that solution definitely had the best potential, I would award a creativity medal :cms: to you for that, if possible.

mi2 is the author of the best light solution, featuring a fancy catcher, make sure you check that out.

However ioncorpse is the proud owner of a beautiful dark solution, which scored highest.

So the results are:
:lms: 9710 - mi2
:dms: 9782 - ioncorpse

You will find the 2718 solution included in the solution file, which is a tweaked version of Votart's Inside UL Fin.

Great job everyone and thank you for participating! :)

Very nice solutions all, I think this has been a great contest.

mi2, I tried sooooooo hard to use that structure as a catcher, congrats on the win.

Great solutions from everyone and congratulations to the winners.

Look what could be done with mi2's breaking mechanism and my (mi2) launcher, there were more points to be had :) and that could go to 9730 if I could have tweaked the tower to break the same as mi2's solution so the catcher would not need the rope.

Yup, and I think you could also combine the 9718 solution with mi2's breaker/catcher, that would result in a 9742 ;)

Great solutions, Votarts launcher is especially cool.
I thought that my catcher is the best of what can be done - I was wrong...but it's cheaper :D Cool catcher mi2, how you came to it?

>> The 9718 is Dark, and with that it would be 9762 or have I misunderstood
To whoever posted that (since it wasn't originally part of my post :s ), I mean the 9718 light one, not mark's 9718 dark.

   Sorry mx781, I edited your post by mistake (now deleted), having looked again I see the 9718 you mean, I missed it
It has come from the zip file just as 9718 with no name, I save some of my tweaks with just the score so I missed it.

thats what i love about ar. when i uild a solution i know you guys build something diffrend but most time a cant even imagine how it will look 8)

i expected dark for me and light for rob. new level will come tomorrow. got something in mind but have to sleep now
