ARFC_B_147_UpOrDown Results

Time's up, here are the results for the 147th B contest: UpOrDown

The overall highscore was submitted by Sendai45. He did bend the rules a bit so I have to disqualify him but he scored 31150  points by stacking multipliers. No medal but definately worth an honorary mention for thinking out of the box.

The :lms: goes to Votart scoring 6660 points. He did create a very powerfull thrower but had to use some assistence to go trough the number 9.
Second place goes to markmadras. He didn't need the assistence in the center but his thrower was a little more expensive so he ended up with 6534.

The :dms: goes to mi2. He made a clean dark solution scoring 7596.

It's been a nice contest but the idea of the level failed. The bottom part was clearly too hard (only markmadras sent a solution scoring 4878). The only way to win was using the +9 multiplier so essentialy the rest of the gates were decoration. I did like sendai45's idea, definately worth creating a level around.

Thanks for playing, see you in the next contest.

rob, very nice POC. I went in a right direction :D
Sendai45, your result could be 350*1+350*2+...+350*9=350(1+2+...+9)=350*45=15750 :dms:, but ...

That is true Votart, however every gate but #1 is traveled through twice. :D that makes:

350*1+350*(2+2)+350*(3+3)+...350*(9+9)=350(1+2+2+3+3+...+9+9)=350*89=31150.

If timers were allowed I could have passed through gate 9 several dozen times! That would have been fun. ;)

I think that pass from left to right was estimated. In any case of a rules should exclude their incorrect interpretation :D

Second place again :( a little closer each time I learn a bit more :) , well done Votart and a nice Dark solution from mi2.

That 7110 POC just shows what the Light launcher can do, nice work.

Sendai45, that was a clever solution and I am sure the idea could be used to create a very interesting contest.

I could see that aswell in Votart's version, the short bar in the lever pops through the bar below it, this I think is Dark but it does not appear to add any Dark power to the thrower. I added this short bar to my design and it reduced the power of the throw. Also, but I stand to be corrected, as the bars are not welded at the start it has to be considered as Light.
