ARFC B 141st Contest RESULTS

Postby Cresta » Tue Jun 09, 2009 8:31 pm

Very nice battle for this level...

:dms: to Votart Silak, 2870

:lms: to: ..........

Vankwish and mi2 are the only ones who developed a non-pulley structure, and that was exactly what I expected from pro players.
They submitted two completely different solutions, but their score is almost the same...

:lms: mi2, 2714 ( 2nd place to Vankwish, 2712)

Congrats to them, I hope this contest was useful to learn how to preserve and exploit energy coming from gravity.
I also included my POC (5 minutes), that doesn't complete the level but shows how I meant this level to be solved... If anyone has time and/or will to develop it, he's welcome!

Enjoy the solutions!

 wow again soo close. i dint expected that vank got a 2700+ score. long time i stuck at 2704 but coukld rais it to my final score. cheapest pully by mark, good job :). cresta your exeble looks great too. as i said before dark was boring is this contest. i had a big smile when i saw Votart Silak "2763 L" solution :D. thats soooo dark   . Vankwish your swing is great. i tried soo long to reach the portal with one powerful shot like your solution but i only climb up half way,so i had to build that catcher. in the end its only 2$

I had to laugh when I read the results and saw that you beat me by $2 mi2 :)

I'm happy that I managed it with a pure light solution. I know we call those welding jobs light (to keep things interesting) but they are obviously so full of dark power.

Congrats though, it's a nice solution.

Bring on the next one.

Two good solutions anyway!

Ahh, that does work!

Look what I sent to Cresta at the same time I submitted my final solution.
It's the same idea as yours but even cheaper. I complained to Cresta about not putting the portal 1mm closer to the edge and forcing me to make that ugly catcher.

I've tried tweaking this for about 10 minutes and couldn't get it to work. I guess that's why I never looked again for a similar solution.
