I can tell you that I used no pulley, and it's 100% light. I didn't even do any welding to create that sneaky dark force.

My guess is that Cresta was messing around in another level and accidentally did something that made him realise this level was possible without a pulley. That type of thing has happened to me alot.

I bet Cresta can show us a really cheap way to do this but I had to force my solution to work.

As I said in the A league thread, I didn't want to make another pulley, so it was either find a better solution or not bother at all.

OK Rob I've just managed to tweak a little more and can match your 2640+ . There is another 20 there but it may take a while to get it

EDIT. Just found a little more but it is getting tight now 2645+

I think I have done my last worthwhile tweak so I'll make another bid and see where we go from here 2650+

I've got more than 2675.

Let me specify:
This level was NOT designed for a pulley solution!
If you manage to exploit the great energy that dillo have when it reaches the bottom you will score better than every pulley system..
I mean, you should add a little energy to the dillo without losing the amount that it owns at the beginning!

It's not easy Cresta. Although I managed it, it was a real struggle to get a solution without a pulley.

Since then I have attempted many other different ideas. I bet I have tried 10-15 totally different techniques and I couldn't get anything else to come even close. Either the dillo smashed everything to pieces on contact, or the structure simply didn't provide enough power.

I even managed to make an extended swing that caught the dillo, but the sheer ammount of kenetic energy made it explode. I'm not talking about after impact, I'm taking about while it's swinging with the dillo. The metal plate exploded from rotating too fast

I can imagine the other guys have tried stuff without a pulley but it's really not so easy to get anything close to working.

This is the first time ever that the very first solution that I got to work, was my final solution. I simply couldn't tweak another $2 out of it. Believe me I've tried. It's not that it's too tweaky, but if I remove anything from it it's simply not powerful enough anymore to get the ball up there.

I hope others do figure something out, because I'd love to see other working solutions, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I think you (Cresta) stumbled onto a technique that was the inspiration for making this level. I'm looking forward to seeing how you complete it at least.

Not easy at all. I've tried, I've tried a lot but it all breaks apart. Can't wait to see it.

Markmadras: It doesn't. I had 2646 at that time and still have. I do see some room for improvement but I doubt if i will get that working...
