This means that you'll need to think more before solving this level. C++ meanwhile. :)

And I think that's about all anyone will get. 9584 done, but I'm sure I can get rid of a metal plate (Bridging the last gap) if I could be bothered to tweak, which I can't. That would be 9604.

If I could be bothered to really tweak it hard, maybe a bit more.

Good luck all.

I don't know what you guys did, but I really must be missing something.
Everytime I think I've got that damn joke figured out, there's another riddle.
I hope it's funny! :P

I haven't even been able to SOLVE it light. I wont give up, though!

EDIT: Finished tweaking my dark solution. I am very happy with it. 4 days before contest ends... Still trying for light....

Seems like I found a desire to tweak.

9640+ Light

Edit: Have you worked out how to complete it yet Jim?
I think it's time for a clue for anyone who is stuck with what they are trying to do.

9900+ Dark. I sure hope I'm not the only one with a dark submission... As for you light folk... still very excited to see what you've done.

Just tried out dark. 9900+ (Barely) isn't too hard.

I'm $10 away from what I believe to be the absolute maximum. The problem is the tensile strength of cloth... The merest fraction too low for what I can currently devise.

EDIT: Success! I figured out a workaround, and managed 9910+Dark. Joyous days!

I think you will take the win on this one then. I have a 9644, but no time. I've only had maybe an hour total on this level, and trying to find time to do more is tough right now.

I'm sure with tweaking I could break 9650 too because I haven't really tweaked my current solution. I just built it a different way, made it work, and it was 9644. There is always a way to tweak out a metal bar given enough time to experiment.

But two days left, who knows. I might find another hour somewhere.

:/ I know what you mean about finding time. Final week has sucked.
I'm sure you can get fairly high pretty easily with another hour though. I am pretty sure 9700+ is possible.

Typical of me lately I've been so busy with everything that I forgot all about submitting my result.

Worst of all it's at work 40 miles away and I'm not back there for 2 days so I will miss the deadline.

Seems like TShultz had me beat anyway. I never had another chance to look at it so 9644 is still my best.

Aaah. I get it.
You don't have to explain it to me more than 3 or 4 times.

Edit: Is that nifty tweaking tool legal for these contests?
