Great! 10 more dollars!

But the 'dillo going out of bounds and thru cloth is dark, and thats after start??

Ah! Very true. By the current rules at least. Still, that's an effect deliberately added by Peter Stock. I don't understand why it should be dark to begin with.

I'm happy you're over 2770 (my pitiful score), since I forgot to send my solution in!
I'm a tweakling (any score posted by me is light, unless stated otherwise)

I afraid that I won't be the winner. It's possible to tweak it up to 2812, but I couldn't do it (needs very good balancing tweakage)

He didn't specifically add the rule for the Armadillo to pass thropugh other stuff - basically he just made it so there is no collision detection* outside the boundaries; probably to avoid using up too much processor power. I imagine he didn't envisage people using it in their solutions.

However, taking advantage of this lack of collision detection does lead to some pretty 'cost saving' setups which it makes a lot of sense to rule against; especially in the case of the Armadillo.

*usually!

There are definitely structures you can build which start out light but then become dark later on. If you create some perpetual motion paddle or wheel using overlapping endpoints etc... halfway through the level, this should still be called still dark IMO.
