That reminds me, wasn't the last contest supposed to be something like: IXL?

Yeah, I thought about mentioning it but then decided it doesn't matter all that much.

The numeration was correct.

...shouldn't it have been XLIX instead of XXXIX? Doesn't really matter though.

27, 33, 39, 47, 100111, XXXIX, IXL or XLIX, it doesn't really matter either way.

(Exercise for the reader: add the right number system to the numbers)

Hexadecimal, duodecimal, decimal, octal, binary and roman.

The two last ones don't make sense. IXL doesn't follow the rules, and if we ignore that, it would be 41 in decimal. XLIX follows the rules, but is 49 in decimal.

For some weird reason I thought this was #50 instead of #40. No idea why :P.

So, yes, XXXIX was right.

The L is the biggest number, meaning 50.
The X is before a bigger number, meaning you need to substract 10 -> 40
The I is before a bigger number, meaning you need to substract 1 -> 39

I just think it's more intuitive that way.

You were right with the number systems btw.

Hehehe... I think XLIX was the name of C?sars dog, and that IXL is a correct but old fassion way of spelling 39. Alternate way is XXXIX Why not make it simple and call it 47 in octadecimal? :D ..Or perhaps 130 in propadecimals? Does that exist? Or does it get 410?
