Bobs launcher was great stuff, while ?rjan Flatseth used a little help from the dark side. ?rjans catcher is really worth a study. A combination of the two solutions would have resulted in 1824 light side.

Yeah, those were the crucial pieces. I still don't fully understand how and why Bob's launcher works as well as it does. Orjans catcher is easier to understand, but also extremely optimized in quite a novel way.
