ARF Contest A #2 (2006-08-13 to 2006-08-15 19:00 Forum Time)

Postby BFC » Sun Aug 13, 2006 10:00 am

Welcome to contest A2!

Submissions can be made to onebfc@gmail.com
Contest ends @: 2006-08-15 19:00 Forum Time

The rules are the same as recent contests and discussion about them is here: http://armadillo.metaclassofnil.com/for ... .php?t=232

Edit: for simplicity name your solutions like this:
[YourForumName]-[DollarsRemaining]
or
[YourForumName]-[DollarsRemaining]-[SolutionName]

Example:
ARFC_A_I_Some Restrictions May Apply.kingofthespill-50-Expensive Fun.lvl

This level is similar to the level in Contest A1. This is due to the fact that I had been working on this level prior to King releasing his for us to use in A1. Hopefully you will all enjoy it as much as the last one. I didn't have any good ideas for a .end so...there isn't one for this. Yes, I suck.

GOOD LUCK!

Another very nice level, thank you BFC. I'll start proceedings off then with my first attempt at 4400+, I expect the winning soloution might be around 4800+ though going on previous competitons!

Hi everyone im a newbie here, loving the competitions and im so glad i bought AR, i have looked at the solutions for previous competitions and they are really impressive. I think it will take me a few comps before i get to a competeing standard, but my current score for this level is just over 4450 so im quite happy with that. Ill keep tweaking and testing and ill say good luck to everyone as well. Have Fun!

ok, i have a strange problem, i tweaked a solution, right? so it worked, i reopened the level, to see my proud thing working again and it doesn't! arrgh,

but then, i adjust one thing, undo that, and the solution works again!.. is this a bug? Does my solution count? what's going on

As long as your solution works when I view it... it counts.

To avoid any problems with levels that mysteriously stop working, immediately save the level after it is successful and then re-open it and save it again as a different name.

I save mine as "whatever_BFC-v1" for a level that I'm working on and when it succeeds I'll save it as "whatever_BFC-v1(1000)".

This leaves you with 2 copies of the same level. one you never touch (the one with the score on it) and one you can work on as you wish.

I've never had a level not work for me doing it this way.
