Choices results:

I thoroughly enjoyed every single one of the solutions to this competition. Do take a good look at them all.

For a while there I thought we were going to have a winning light solution using tensioned rubber. Then mikee7 proved there was a cheaper way with a wonderfully creative swing launcher.
But it was mi2 with a  light solution beating the closest competition by over $50.

:lms: 1626 mi2 - I defy anyone to watch only the first 4 seconds and then work out how the ball is going to get over the gap. It's a spectacularly creative solution.

As for the dark side, the level of creativity was just as entertaining. It was a tight battle. Markmadras had it for a good while, and then mi2 came in at the last minute with a 1754, only to be beaten by $2 with a late entry by Overlord.

:dms: 1756 Overlord - Awesome. An ingenious solution to getting over that hanging metal plate.

Final thoughts: The variety and creativity displayed in all the solutions makes this a real favourite for me. Even if you didn't join in on this comp you really should check out all the solutions not just the top scores.
Special mention to mi2 for being the only one to go over the top with his 1754 dark solution.

And check out the 1512 by MarkMadras - If ever you needed proof that welding creates force here it is. He manages to lift one of the boxes and keep it held up using only welding, just like a paddle would do it.

just for the proof i will add my best dark now. its like the 1754 just saving 4$.

watching the other solutions was fun. some using rubber  but then mikeeĀ“s swing was cool too. cool contest at all 8)
