The Contest ends may 13th at 2200 gmt

GMT Time link: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

EDIT: It turns out this level is very similar to a previous contest
If this ends in a big tie, and it does look like it, I would like to give :lms: to the best solution that doesn't use metal plate.

Interesting.

They say immitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Take a look at ARFC_A_189...
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1941

The levels are almost identical. I mean REALLY REALLY close. The only noticeable difference is the dillo in this one is a little lower than in my competition, but other than that they are the same.

Great minds think alike :)

Expect to see at least 920 light.

Ooops
Never seen that level, wasn't playing armadillo yet. Didn't have much time so had to create something nice and simple to make a POC but tweakable enough to be interesting.

Hehey, i remember this level...
That little difference in height doesn't make any change so
i guess here will be sadly a few tie :?

i haven't been playing for long either and i don't think its that easy :/ i cant keep the dillo long enough in the zone and 920 seems hardcore...

I have not been playing for long either. I have a 770+Dark solution but it will not stay upright for long enough and I have tweaked it with ARtweaker on the finest setting, I think maybe the dark forces have made it unstable even though it is a symmetrical design. There is very little space below the anchor, inside the boundary, so not much room to have any plate or bar hanging from you design to add stability. All in all I am finding this one harder than it looks and 920  is not within my reach but things could change  .

Looking at the similar level mentioned, the Dillo is further away from the portal which can only just be reached by one length of bar or plate so I don't think many of the previous solutions will work because they don't raise the Dillo high enough (I may be proved wrong though). Also, the Dillo has to travel further, there is only a small lift required on the earlier level, less than half the Dillo's diameter, in this one it is about 3 times that distance.

Nice one rob, if I ever get anything to keep Dillo in the portal for long enough an entry will be rolling in. :)

Just had another go at the dark solution and got it to work with improvements 800+ :dms:  I'm happy even it it gets beaten. This would have been near impossible without the ARtweaker, it took very fine adjustments, even now it's only just still for long enough. Now for the Light one :?

It shure would have been a nice level if it wasn't done before.

If we do get a big tie, and it does look like it, I would like to give the :lms: to the best solution that doesn't use metal plate.

I'll add this to the startpost as well.

Or why not just give the light win to whoever comes up with the best solution that isn't stolen from the previous competition.

Copying someone elses idea (WolterW I think came up with the best previous solution that can work here), isn't really in the spirit of competition anyway.

One thing I remember from the previous comp was the huge variety to the solutions. I'm sure there are plenty more ways to do this than was discovered last time. Removing the ability to use metal plates would be extremely frustrating I believe.

But very well possible, i have two completely different POC's without metal plate.

I vote for rob's idea, that's much simplier than determining who copied who's solution, which is also pretty relative

fiuu finally found a stable concept that you dont need to adjust for 3 hours (or that needs one hell of a luck ^^)
expansive though i score 850+, no plate

Metal plate = metal bar or metal sheet?

plate is the same as sheet.
