Yeah, I know what you mean ToonyMan. I normally get bored of levels like this before I can even be bothered to work out what the designer intended.

But with this one I had some luck quite quickly. It's very random though. I can't say there was any skill involved in getting things to work. It was just random guessing until thing started to go in the right direction. I'm not a fan of anything random in a level.

Anyway, with that said, I'll raise:
1916+L

Ha... it looks like i made a huge design failure...
But on another side, that opens totally new dimensions (even it's random).
Damn!

Success and failure can only really be judged once we see the ammount of interest the level creates. Random isn't so bad if people can get a working result in 15 minutes and then have something to tweak. The problems arise when players get nowhere in 30 minutes and then they give up because they could spend another 30 minutes and still have nothing.

I just got lucky, so I can't really complain, but I'm sure it won't be the same for everyone.

1900+ L shouldn't be that hard if you guess right/get lucky, but... It's a @#()@ to tweak...

get 1916+L in 5 mins, but I cant see there is any way to tweak it better.
edit: the tension is helpful. 1920+L is done, and the best will be 1950+L

I can't really work out what the designer was intending for us to do here. The dillo is obviously meant to run on the rails but god knows how you're suppose to destroy the metal sheet triangle.

I can probably get to $1924 L but it's so tweaky I could waste my entire life trying to get to the sweet spot.

With 3 metal bars maybe?
Newermind. There is no question that isn't tweaky but i has designed(at least i tried, and seems like without succes) this level for solutions under 1870.
I hope it wont dramatically decrease yours will to still find some fun on this level...

On my drive to work I thought of a better catcher. It was only going to save me $2, but I thought I might as well do it.

My problem was that my previous solution is on my home computer. So, I thought I would experiment and see just how random this level really is. 75 minutes later I am yet to recreate my previous solution. I pity anyone trying to complete this level cheaply. I can't believe how stupidly lucky I got when I first tried this. Not only did I get the ball to launch within 10 minutes of trying but it was the perfect launch - exactly how I would have tweaked it if any tweaking had been needed. But today, I find it impossible to get even close to the same result.

The moral of this story is random+AR=

I can imagine that the best possible solution to this level would be $1940+ if you had a lifetime of random tweaking to waste until you got lucky.

I'll come right out and say my score. $1934 done and in the bag. I'm fairly sure my new catcher can make that $1936 but I wont waste my time trying to tweak the launch at work anymore, when I have it perfect at home.

I dont really care if anyone beats me. I was lucky to get my score, if someone gets the $1940+ then they are just even luckier. I'm definitely not going to be attempting it myself.

I don't believe $1950+ is possible as CN says without a catcher that creates dark force. Eg, cloth trapped into a metal plate.

Definitely $1940 :) I just got bored and played some ArmadilloRoulette for 5 mins and got lucky again.

Best possible is $1946 unless I've missed a cheaper catcher, but I don't think so.
