Whooah, it's nice to see so many people interested in a level.

I guess the initial simplicity of the level is appealing to everyone, but you guys are proving there are plenty of ways to tweak this one.

No two people are on the same score at the moment, and it's super close.

Okay some clues for you to make a non tension launcher. Without telling you exactly how.

Squeeze the dillo. Force the ball into a space it can't fit into and it will shoot out
Use weight to make it squeeze harder for extra speed.

Another clue. What would happen if you dropped a book on the side of a ball? Or two books, or three books? That's another way of doing it.

A great deal of the skill of this game is finding ways to covert potential energy into kenetic energy. So the further something falls, and the heavier it is, the more movement (kenetic energy) it will transfer when it hits something. Also making that tranferance of energy as smooth as possible is also the key to efficiency and thus lower costs. Bouncing and bumping takes away energy.

I hope this helps you to get a launcher under $100

I was really close to one, but then I gave up. But you are better at tweaking and have more patience, so you probably will be able to. Good luck!

EDIT: Nevermind. Just had to use my brain to think out how I should tweak it, and voila... It worked! (After a few tries)... Yay Physics!

EDIT2: In other news, I have something that catches it, and if cloth weren't able to be pulled through metal plates, would catch it. (And be right outside the blue circle....). Oh yeah. Also, the metal bars are in the way.

Bah, *gives up*

Been trying to get the catcher to also act as the mechanism for getting around the bend but have to admit defeat! :(

Can't wait to see the solutions!

My solution doesn't actually work... (It's kinda close?)
So don't give up!

Also, I'm wondering how to get it there without using the catcher to get it around the bend.

EDIT: I just realized the metal plate at the end is on a teeny tiny slope, so my 1886 could work in theory...
I guess I'll post my failures after it ends.

Shame you couldn't tweak it to work. I bet Mikee7 isn't complaining though.
And yeah, the teeny tiny slope :) I didn't expect everyone to see that. Wait for my next A league, it has an even more interesting semi-secret.
