I'm confused. don't you mean left? because the right part goes down. I understand the whole fulcrum and lever setup though.

edit: where did that pic go? it was here a minute ago. Unless somehow the post was put in here, wierd.

Sorry, that was wrong picture :)
Here is correct one.
This are the things going on in the Real world. In unw's solution Right body goes up.

The right body (assuming you mean the arm) still goes down in unw's level, I'm still a bit confused what you mean there. Then again, I suck at math.

unless you mean weightwise, since the left part is heavier, that one should go down.

Conservation of Angular Momentum ftw!

you proved that there was an outside torque applied to the system! yay. 8)

This was just a sketch.

In unw's solution:

ON THE LEFT SIDE:
Ball+Part of construction.
ON THE RIGHT SIDE:
Another part of construction.

I just want to say that LEFT (Mass*Length) > RIGHT (Mass*Lenghth).

So armadillo must go down.

As it is not happening, solution is dark.

yea, like I said, it is impossible unless the material on the right actually was heavier (although angular momentum would still affect it) or it was bieng physically pulled down as in a winch.

Do you mean torque not angular momentum? Torque is the thing that makes things rotate.

Unw you should've just put another metal bar on the right side so no one would've noticed and you still would've won.
