ARFC A LXXIX RESULTS!!

Postby Cresta » Thu May 10, 2007 9:04 pm

Well,

First of all I think that this number_of_entries-deadline-method worked pretty well!!
Probably it will need some little changes, but I believe it can become the new deadline method (ps: The idea is not mine... )

Anyway, thanks to:

dorian
Unw
Super_Julio_Bros
 for their 1 solution sent

JonathanF
Ioncorpse
Ikerous
Rebel
 2 solutions sent (rebel's pair is dark)

OrjanF  3

NickyNick
wolterw
 4

And boredjoe, who, with his  5 solutions :!: is the moral winner of the contest!!!

I included the solutions of the two late-comers tomo and Gman, they sent their solution immediatly after I announced that the 10th entry was arrived....
Thanks everybody for spamming my email box with your 29 solutions.....

BUT,
ladies and gentlemen,
the official winner of this intense contest is:

Unw, with a score of 2896!!!!

It seems that the problem of the down-boundary didn't exist for him!!
Congratz man!!

This was fun  The entries are so different! One of the best contests imo.

Ikerous and GMan's 2840 solutions are pretty much the same.

Nicely! I specially loved ioncorps' system and catchers from beyond the Odd Worlds! Bai de way: How come there are two identical entries - one thats Gmans and one thats Ikerous? Liked the unfolding catcher there anyway  All those entries reminds me of the old days during the cold war when we tweaked as Ronald Raygun and Gorbachev spoke on the TV in the background. The dillo was in black and white and could only go sideways. And only left, or right depending on witch side of equator you lived. Thats what K?re Stokke from the neighborhood told. He had an uncle in australiga. I never understood how he could have an uncle in Australia as the airoplane was not invented - so the only way to go to Australia was do die and hope to be accidentally reborn as the same person in Austraila in some future life during the eternal chain of reincarnation. But its not certain that there is such thing as reincarnation - but there ARE people in Australia - so how did they come there if reincarnation dont exist, I tells yah! Huh? Those where the days - and so are these! Who am I?

We worked on it together. I actually submitted them as one solution then the host turned it into two. (Originally it was score - Ikerous & Gman)

He built the catcher, I made it balance and catch the dillo :D

I also came up with the falling plate idea (by accident), he came up with the swinging metal plate to knock dillo up.

Fun times. :)

Don't you find that the end of contest is a bit unlogical? All these smart engineering features, solving the bottom border problem, became useless because Unw managed to pass it without any extra money spending... What an intrigue, what a drama! Fantastic. I love ARFC for these days :D
