The contest ranking / medal tally / leaderboard is now fully automated.

At the same time the suggestions in this thread were implemented. This means that many people were put back a few ranks, but at least now you have something to look forward to again :dms::cms:

It also means that you can always find a current leaderboard and medal tally at the second post in this thread.

It also means that new winners will recieve their medal and rank much sooner, with at most a day delay after the contest was registered. Regardless of whether I have time or not.

The coolest thing IMHO is that there is now a moving goal to work towards: Orjan is our current Champion of Light, while darkcatalyst is - fittingly - Champion of Darkness. Congrats!

Let's celebrate!

(btw, the Ruby script to do all this (read post from DB, parse, generate tallys, update db) is 110 lines long, with a few debug statements))

I just came back from holiday - I got some cool christmas presents but this one is the best!

Although now I have to play more to get rid of this silver medal Gold is much shinier.

The Champion of Light icon looks absolutely awesome btw. PS: and so does the design one! The Dark Champion one looks pretty cool too; not as cool as the light one though

PPS: This is (as far as I know) the finalised ranking system, for ease of reference:

1-2 Medals : Contest Winner
3-5 Medals : Contest Veteran
6-9 Medals : Contest Legend
10+ Medals : Armadillo Lord

15+ Light Medals : Light Master

10+ Dark Medals : Dark Master

15+ Light and 10+ Dark Medals : Armadeus

Most light medals : Light Champion
Most dark medals : Dark Champion

PPPS: SHould we have a 'Design Champion'?

Just checking, is 10+ medals supposed to be 'Armadillo Lord' or 'Contest Lord'?

Because Armadillo Lord sounds cooler
