I haven't yet figured out how I can add $100 of tension into a sub $200 solution. My $4696 is without.

4696?! And I just wanted to brag with my beastly 4666...

[edit]
Are you sure you didn't use tension? Not even a little bit? ;)
If so, color me impressed.

oi! Ninja edit! I was just going to say my non-tension solution cost $4624 :P

Though I could likely save a little by removing some stuff, and then testing by randomly adding things away from the action as that seems to make a huge difference...

Hmmm, I'm not sure I can ask this without giving my solution away... I'm only around 4700 though, so I don't suppose it matters...

Does it count as "the force" if it is caused by objects stopping interacting when they go out of bounds, intersecting each other, and then coming back into play and interacting again?

Putting objects through other objects thereby propelling or exploding something can be entered but will not be first prize but they can earn an honorable mention and a little "dark side" icon rank if it is cheaper than the best Street Legal version.

That doesn't answer my question though - I didn't put anything through anything else - it happens by itself during the run of the simulation. It happens quite a lot with cloth passing through cloth and then exploding, for example, if you tie a pulley system up too tight, and I've seen it happen with high-speed metal bars colliding. I have to assume that a solution in which that happens is allowed.

The border line case is where, 10 seconds into the game, something which was in a valid state when it left the play area returns in an invalid state and explodes ...

It's what you use to propel stuff if you aren't Luke Skywalker ;)

Then you're perfectly within the rules. The rules do answer your question, they mention only times when its against the rules, all other times are legal.
