Welcome back!

This is the second AR Forum Contest, graciously hosted by kingofthespill. This time, it will run for 3 days (half of Thursday, Friday, Saturday and half of Sunday) und with timing that should allow both people who are unavailable during the week and those that can't play at weekends to participate.

The official deadline is 15:45 GMT+1 on 18/06/06. Of course you can send in your solutions earlier. Please do not send your solutions to me, send them to kingofthespill instead. I will actually participate in this one.

Here is the level that he designed and tested: (I switched to the Roman numbering system because AR would believe it to to be in a set otherwise)
Download the second contest level!

(And before you hit me: the restrictions were his idea, not mine ;))

Your solution can be submitted to me: bens@hevanet.com . Multiple submissions for alternate methods or cheaper solutions are welcome.

I have made a void type level, but with restricted materials. The challenge is a bit more difficult, and the extra day might help that if you are a beginner. I have tested it and the budget is ample. This is my first level, so any feedback about making it better would be welcome.

The format essentially is the same as last time with one difference in the prize designations; winning using the "force" gets its own prize, and in that case "gold" first place goes to the cheapest "street legal" solution.

Posting anything other than scores and very general comments about the current contest level is prohibited during the 72 hour contest period.

Interesting level... I had no idea how to solve it, so it took a lot of trial & error to find a solution that worked. Since noone else have posted, I might as well start the show; 1110. It's probably a poor score, but someone have to go first, eh? :)

Nice level! But the materials :?: :o :? Elasticity is in demand.
Now, seriously, my best score so far is around 3700. And I have no idea how to do it cheaper.
Good luck everybody!

I have a solution that saves $3800, but it's cheating! ;)

(I found a new bug in the game)

My best "clean" solution is better than $3500. For now.

Wow, pretty hard level, cant find solution even with any budget remaining (except minus)

Yeah, I believe saying "The challenge is a bit more difficult" doesn't fully express the difference between this and the first contest level. More like "Whoa, that's hard" - at least until you discover a few interesting properties of this kind of restriction...

Anyway, I think I can also say with some certainty that any solution using a rocket will not win.

Yes. If you use a different handle, you can also include another name in the level name (JonX's solution) or just put both in the email like this: Roxxor/JonX

Hehe, I thought that would be an appropriately general remark...

And I'm not even sure about that, as there are so many strange things you can do with these materials :armadillo:

And yes, just saying it's more difficult  doesn't quite convey much. Completing any solution really is an accomplishment. :) :armadillo:

Well, by the rules you set up last time saying rockets are good or bad almost is like giving out details or hints :) .

Yes and I look forward to seeing the results!
