For the first contest I decided unilaterally on 48 hours, but what are your thoughts?

I'm going to buck the trend and say a week. It makes it more of an 'event' and with people allowed to post their costs, it allows enough time for going back, trying again and then rubbing it in their faces.

Plus, the first 12 hours of an internet compo is a futz anyway - when the compo is announced, half the world is asleep

I'm in the "more than 72 but less than a week" boat myself.

I feel 3 days can sometimes be hard to do as schedules can clash. 5 days are rare (for me at least) where I won't have some time to spend on the PC.

So, I put a week as my vote but I would have voted 5 days if given the choice.
