So BFC, did you really hit $5700? I got another optimization to work and maxed out at $5676.

I think lots of people should make 5700. I had 5720 on mine (but only sent in my 5716 because I know of someone with 5730). I also worked on a 5740 solution, but pixel-tweak-hell wasn't on my side.

I am curious to see what folks have done with the "force". This time around I just couldn't figure out any decent "force"solution .

Hit me! Yup. I could't come up with any force-solution so I went to the light side.

Yeah I sent in a 5714 solution. Good to see we'll likely have another new winner this week

so 48hours after that time is Monday 8:36am. I guess I should have checked more thoroughly!!!! (Aside to kots: the time that it displays on the forum index page is also in my time, it says 9am now!)

Anyway I've sent everything off to Peter, I thought I was supposed to post the 'who won' announcement but looking at previous threads I can see now that Peter does that.

I won't spoil too much but I can say it was very exciting to see the entries roll in, first I got kingofthespills' 5600+ entry and was suitably wowed, then when BFC and Toa sent in their 5.7k solutions only $2 apart it got pretty exciting! But then Peter came along and casually blasted them out of the water with his $5722 !! But wait, theres more!!

I got mine up to $5656, but the one I sent in was only $5636. Was pretty sure you weren't ALL lying and that it wouldn't win either way, so no worries

My first attempt gave me 5598, and after 15 minutes I had a 5658 solution. I got a good start, but sometimes you just have to start over again as the solutions potensial just isnt high enough no matter how much tweaking you put into it.

Rotating the construction is a real pain in the ass, and because of my lazyness I worked too long on a solution that just couldnt be tweaked into victory. I should have tried different angles and solutions, and tweaked them all to hell. I've learned my lesson.

Oops, I should have said "about 48 hours". I won't make any more time references in the future

I'm sure Peter will have the results posted shortly.
