First of all, sorry for taking so long, I was playing a prolonged session of table tennis matches against a friend of mine. It's the only RL sport I'm very much into, so I totally forgot about the contest ;)

The contest level was provided by Ogre this time around:

From his email:
Ogre wrote:Please tell people to send their solutions to armadillo@rumsey.org, or I'll post in the contest thread when it's up.

The contest will run until 23/07/06 21:00 CET (GMT+1). The normal rules apply, no extra rules this time.

Hope everyone has fun with it. I had been thinking about making a level where the Armadillo got some kind of initial motion applied to it, but seeing how the last two contests were also like that, I decided I'd leave it alone and let you all do your own thing.

I tried several variations on the "I" theme, and while this one is the least "I" like, it was the most interesting. I have solved it for well under the allowed budget, but I know my solutions won't even be close to yours!

I love it! It's very simple but still challenging and interesting. My first working solution (I just finished it) is better than $2500 - I won't reveal the exact value so soon ;)

$2226.

Hmm, interesting.

$2388.

Interesting, I think $2400 is possible out of the way I'm doing it now, but I think a major change is needed in order to snag the top scores.

I'm back at last and in time for this contest! I've broken 2600 with some tweaking to do.

Game on!

Hehe! If you really are very motivated then it will be exceptionally hard for us to compete. Nevertheless, I'll try my best!

Ha! Don't give me that much credit. I'm just lucky :)

I'm motivated because I have an incredibly kick ass map I want everyone to compete on. It's extremely radical.

Teaser: Building the cheapest structure on it probably wouldn't net you a winning solution.

I like how so many competition levels start with H or I - makes them easy to find in the list!

I imagine I have something identical to several folks with $2430. I am absolutely not seeing $2500+. :?
