There are too many comps ( ? )

I suspect/ feel that the ABCND comps are getting too much. The comps steels submitters from each other - resulting in low numbers of entries for each comp.

FWIW, I voted "I agree".

Unfortunately, it's correct. But, some people say that only A&B isn't enough. I agree with them. When I have some free time (not last month though), I feel that I want to play more and more. Let's think and figure out, how to solve this problem.

How about instead of stating when a competition ends, give the exact date and a minimal number of entries, whichever comes last is the deadline.....

Really nice idea, I like it. How about of doing on the next A&B competitions? How about of setting 10 as minimal amount of entries from different people?

10 is too much about 6 or 7 depend on how hard is lvl

10 is enough for a contest to drag on longer, I think. Currently there are 5 entries in my A comp. We could really have this solution limit, but when it's reached, we should grant extra time (some hours) for people, who waited till the end, to post their solutions.

Also, it might be a nice idea to add the current solution count in the first post, frequently checking and editing it.

maybe 10 for A 10 for N and 7 for B and C?

Yeah, and reaching the minimal amount of entries will set the deadline: one or two days after that.

that is an awesome idea.

I Think that the different types of competitions are perfect and shouldn't change, but they might be a bit too frequent for everyone to keep up with (and are certainly too frequent for a certain medal updater to update the medals!)

What I can say is that, trying this new 10-entries-deadline method, I'm getting a LOOOOOOOOOT of entries!
I think also that putting a startline for submitting scores is an other important issue: in this way people that have had no time to develop a solution aren't influenced by other scores, and submit a solution that can LATER be improved!

So, arranging these two modification I believe that the problem can be solved, or, at least, reduced...

Just a quick comment, once there are 10 entries received there should be a deadline set (maybe a day or 2 for A competition); the competition shouldn't end as soon as the 10th one is received!!!

The agressive bidding in the end could make it hard to get the last 10th in. We need a mystical unknown to deliver the last entry - withc hopefully is a bit odd and not very competetive.

I think the answer is to reply to my post who wants the W.A.R.T contest back ...

The thing is I am happy to run the contest again if enough people are interested. With the W.A.R.T contest it means theres no messing about with forums or dark entries. All the results can be clearly seen in the same place with proper results tables from first place right down to last. It's just better than in this forum. The levels I was making were also pretty interesting .. or so people tell me. And you also get much longer to solve them than here so everyone can have a go regardless of anything else they might have to do ...

Thanks

Please give me feedback
