However, BFC will only be able to send me the results a bit later, so you'll probably have to wait about 19 hours still before seeing our marvellous solutions :D.

Wow, you guys are up late!

Thanks 'PT' I might even try my hand at another solution with that much time remaining!

So, I just submitted a $2410 solution (I think we haven't quite hit the deadline, right?). But I'm not too proud of this technological terror I've constructed. If you get my meaning. Image

Well we certainly have The Good, The Bad and The Ugly covered solutions wise :)

Some of the solutions are very elegant and well done. People are getting better every contest level.

Now, which solutions you consider elegant or not is personal preference :)
Certainly everyone that submits a solution has done well to complete it.

And with that, the fourth contest comes to a close. Expect a results thread in a few hours.

Ah rats, I just refined my dark side solution to $2434, missed getting it working by a few minutes. I sent it in anyway, hopefully that $24 won't make a difference :)

Didn't you say before the forum software won't even let you give yourself a medal? If so, it's Bob I'm worried about, not you :)

Hmm...perhaps the forum could use a dark-side Smiley?

Well I have sent the submissions into Peter. Everyone that submitted had good ideas, some better than others of course :)

Well done all and I hope you all enjoyed it even with the "touchy" rubber.

Just as a note.. we ALMOST had a tie... a last minute submission averted this.

Also, I tried (to only partial success) to persuade people from using their favorite techniques for lifting. The cloth drag is very popular as are rockets and tensioned rubber. These methods work very well so I tried to construct the level such that it would not be cost effective to use them excessively. The winning solution uses very little of these methods, which is what I expected :)

Again, great solutions everyone. I hope we all learned some new tricks. I know I sure did!
