Perhaps "lying" isn't the right choice of words here

Since it's in the rules that it is allowed to "bluff", it really isn't fair to call folks liars if they choose to bluff a score.

I'm not saying anyone is/is not bluffing here.

I just don't see how 2300+ would be possible. (However, if Bob says he has done it I'm almost 100% sure he has

$2946. I rigged something up with a metal plate, a short piece of cloth, and the rest in string. I'm like some kind of Armadillo MacGyver. I suggest everyone who sent in an entry to send in another email and revoke your entries, to save yourselves from embarassment.
