Air resistance would probably affect the game much more fundamentally than new materials.

Think parachutes and gliders.

So far the only material that's been suggested is a fan. Everything else has to do with the physics and adding some options like diffrent kinds of timers. (Unless I missed something, or if timers count as materials.) (I'm defining a material as something solid that can directly affect other things or defined as something that can be connected to endpoints.)

I agree, realistic air resistance and magnetic feilds would both be awesome! You could have 'magnetness' as another slider like tension; and magnetic forces would affect metal stuff only.

I guess it would make the armadillo happy, like it's raising moral or something. Knocking the armadillo around would lower moral and the higher the armadillo's moral is the higher you're score is. Hmm... that was originally meant as a joke but it might be interesting to have in the competitions or something.

I suggest we have pulleys that interact with the rope and elastic.

I'd say it would change the size of the armadillo...

We don't need items as complicated as pulleys - just some sort of object (eg, a loop) which can 'hold on to' rope - this could then be used to make pulleys, as well as flying-foxes, cable-cars and lots of other interesting devices.

i really like the magnet idea, think i read that in a earlyer thread
realistic air resistance with fans and things i think is a logical step forward. but i also like the idea of portals, but i think they would need some sort of no place zones as you dont just want people puting an exit portal right next to the exit, maybe the entrance portal and exit have to be placed within a sertain distance of each other depending on cost.
of all the things ive lost i miss my mind the most.

I'll second that

And this one as well.

I think a pully would be quite easy to implement, but I'll go either way on it.

My two suggestions (and at 1 cent each...)

1. The ability for the application to be able to handle zip files. ie, you only need to place the zip file in the levels folder, and AR will work with the zip itself (obviously having to create temp files for the progress etc. but the levels could remain zipped otherwise (in one convenient location)

As an alternative, be able to handle subfolders of level types.

2nd suggestion... A "PAUSE" button at least. Or screen capture button, but a pause button would be better. Frame forware or reverse would be even better again, but not really necessary.

And on timing... I will second (third or fourth) the suggestion about starting at a predetermined time in a level (just to speed up the tweaking progress).

RTFM - Who'd of thought! You've made my day now.

As someone else already said: This is the best "new features" thread yet. What we ask for is already there! :)

I'm only a newbie to the game and now that you veterans are discovering this, I don't feel so stupid.

We're all just typical males, and there's an acronym for us...
