Because people will forget to turn off their capslock in the CBox.

I didnt forget it. IM holding down the SHIFT key. I have one of those half-split keyboards. I h8 these Keyboards

Can we get a real reason?

its a cool idea, but its meant for websites which you can't otherwise chat on =P

This is a forum, so I think having a cbox will mean we get less posts.

I don't hate you, I'm just slightly annoyed by you now and then. The big sig, the writing in caps, things like that. This post I just quoted was a proper post, congratulations! (Except for the 'h8'

As for a real reason, shoutboxes really can become spammy, since for this forum you don't really have short things to say. It would also take in room on the side of the forum, which can be annoying for people with smaller screens. dubiobugtron's reason is valid, too.

Huh. Well it is cleat and the voting goes on forever. Well I do know three sites with cboxes and they get tons of posts. Spamming ins't a big deal to me, but it is to you. This is why you all built the general fourm. for "everything that doesnot fit the catagories below" end quote.

Anyway, the votes are clear. maybe the mods and the admins should do their own votes to detirmine there own decision. Thats all up to you all.
