Why can I sometimes attach sheets to bars but sometimes not?

Postby johnny vet boy b » Mon Aug 07, 2006 5:57 pm

I love this game, but am finding it hard to work out when I can place sheet metal or cloth between lengths of metal bars so that I can place single sheet or cloth lengths that are attached to the bar nodes. When I try the sheet instantly dissapears so I have to extend the length but then there will be gaps where the sheet is not attached to the bars. I've seen levels where each sheet is snuggly bound to single length sections of bars so why can't I do this in game?

I've re-read the instructions a hundred times trying to see if I'm missing something fundamental. Cus even on one of the early training levels I can place single sheets between bars with no problems. What is going on?

Cheers.

You can't have a piece of any kind where both of the endpoints are attached to the same other piece. I don't think any of the training levels have that. What you can do, and is often done with cloth, is make two pieces of cloth that are half the length of the bar each and attach them in the middle. Then they look and act like a single cloth, but it's still two pieces.
