Playable on Geforce Ti4200?

Postby Prospero » Wed Jul 19, 2006 5:24 pm

I've seen people here have no problems playing the game on a Geforce 2, but my machine is having awful framerates trying to play the demo (less than 1 fps!). My graphics card is a GF Ti4200. Have updated the drivers to the most recent version to no effect - anyone else use this card and have problems, or have it working?

Does it support OpenGL?

Make sure you do not have any AA applied, that could be causing a framerate issue. Also, your CPU will probably cause more lag in this game then anything.

Ok, checked that the AA was disabled and unfortunately made no difference. Tweaked a couple of other graphics settings there too but no luck.

This PC is an Athlon XP 2100+ (1.7GHz) with 1Gb RAM... I wouldn't have thought it should have any problem running the game, or is it more demanding than I thought? :(

It should run perfectly well on your system I think. Does it write some OpenGL error message in the upper right corner?

(sorry for slow reply, work sucks :( )

Nope, no error message of any sort. It runs slow both windowed and in full screen.

Think I will have to give up running it on this PC and be happy with it playing on my laptop instead :?
