Strange glitch involving money and tension/compression

ok, this one is what I would have to call a true bug in this game, that is, a bug that messes everything up.

The thing is, that I noticed this in level 41-two steps when I was trying to tweak it for more money and I noticed something strange. I can't seem to upload the saved versons of the level so I'll try to explain here.

First off, as a base, I have a piece of rubber under the armadillo ready to use as a launchpad, I have $950

Second, when I put on an elastic and extend it from there to the left anchor of the two over the center pit, there I have $-10

So far it's good, however when I apply the tension, things go wierd, when I apply -100% compression (shows as green), the price goes down to -4220, when I apply 100% it shoots up to $310, thats positive 310. Something is going on because it really shouldn't do that right? it only should be taking away $200, not adding 300 or subtracting 4000.

I'm going to try restarting the comp and see if this bug goes away, if not, then I'll check the other levels just in case.

I apologize for the double post, but still.

Anyways, I'm still having that same glitch, the numbers vary, but it's doing the same thing as I saw. It really shouldn't take money away poportionately to the objects length OR even give you money.

Something definetly broke. Maybe it's because I uploaded an older level solution.

Still, someone should get PeterT if it's not isolated to me.

Wait, it's because compression gets rid of nodes, so the nodes saved is money earned and tension adds nodes.

With elastic, the prices are just much bigger.

Lol beat you Ike.

It's not a glitch. When its compressed you're using less material so it's cheaper

Edit: daym drago!

like I said, the numbers do vary a bit, it also happens with rope but the numbers aren't as big I think.

I am running windows vista and this is a new computer, but I don't think windows vista could cause the game to malfunction like this.

Still, how did peter want that function to work moneywise? I would have assumed it to be a flat $100.

It's not your computer. It happens on everyone's computer. It's not a glitch. I've used it to save money before in competitions by adding more tension than necessary just to save some money. That was on clothe not elastic though. The same thing happens.

Edit: It is a flat 100 for the tension. But depending on how much tension you add it changes the length of the elastic/clothe/rope which changes it's cost. So if you have a 4m piece of clothe and add 100% tension and it goes down to 2m (I made that length up, i'm not really sure how much 100 percent actually compresses stuff) then the cost of the clothe is cut in half

lol, I guess this is the 'other' money cheat.

Still, it would make more sense to me to have a flat fee of $100.

This may also be where some of those strange money results were coming from in those recent submissions.

There is a glitch.

Make a piece of elastic, tension it.

Copy and paste it about 100 times.
Click clear.

You'll have about 10000 more money to start on the level with.
