Email to PeterT

Postby JustcallmeDrago » Tue Aug 21, 2007 3:09 am

Here is my rough, rough, 1-grit sandpaper draft of the email I was going to mail to Peter to get him to OK the creativity medal bill.

Too bad I'm bad at writing letters and too bad this has made my brain hurt.
I want you guys to know I wouldn't send this to anyone! It doesn't just need editing, it needs to be finished! The first few lines might be good enough but the rest is bad. Please don't only think about appending more stuff to the end; The middle needs work too.

I need your guys' help!!

This is JustcallmeDrago from the AR Forum. Over here we've been doing some formulating. We've argued about, reformed, voted on, and passed, (on our own, I might add =D) a bill for a "Creativity Medal". The bill, which 70% of voters (7/10) have voted to pass, addresses each aspect of how the Creativity Medal will be integrated into current contests. We believe that adding the ability to win a medal due to one's creativity will be very popular.People who don't participate in contests now because either they can't tweak well enough to win or they just don't want to spend the time tweaking will be more likely to enter... [more ideas here] ...I think it's a great idea and many others think so too. We hope you feel the same way.

You can find the actual bill at
http://armadillo.metaclassofnil.com/for ... php?t=1392

Here are a few main points of the creativity medal:
First and foremost, hosts are not obligated to hand out a creativity medal. If a host dosen't think any solutions are creativity medal-worthy, or if the host is against creativity medals

Yes sounds good.

For another idea, you could put:

'It also gives new players the chance to win a medal. Also, it'ssomething both new players and current players could be equally matched at, bringing new players into the game more.'

Just off the top of my head :)

Oh, I won't. So that's one, two, three? Okay.

"Every single active moderator is against it. There are 3 active moderators."

Is that like "Everyone on the plane was killed instantly. There was 1 person on the plane."?

it means they dont like change.... and they want things to stay the way they are and want it to stay that way.

EDIT: and it also means that they dont realize how good new ideas are because they dont like anything new that they didnt come up with

I don't really think that's it. They're fine with change, but not change in a direction they don't believe in.

Conservatism is not a bad thing. I hope there are never laws that allow people to marry animals.

Gay marrige -> Marrige to infants -> animals -> inanimate objects

for some things it is good, but in a lot of times it isnt also... so its good to have a little conservatism, but some people are too conservative, and i know they arent conservative... i was just trying to come up with as a comeback...lol
