New option request

Does anyone else agree that whilst it's great to be able to turn the sounds off, it would be better to have an option to disable only the "knocking" noises caused by objects colliding? They make it hard to hear things braking in complex structures. I can't think that it would take much more than some IF statements and an extra option. Post your thoughts.

Hm... the sound files are stored somewhere on the harddrive. Therefore you could probably delete the sounds you didnt want played or replace them with blank wav files. Although I don't see the sound files stored in a folder anywhere so they're prolly stored in a dll. You could use a dll editor to change them or remove them. Perhaps someone with a better understanding of it could create replacement dll's that would disable collision noises

I think they are stored inside the EXE. It's not impossible.

EDIT: Just listened to the EXE. The whole second half of the EXE is pitted with silence. I think I've found it. Just now to work out what format it's in.

Rename it to .RAW and then convert it to .WAV using Switch. I need to know the parameters, though (stereo, speed, bit depth, bit order, signed or unsigned, etc) or it'll end up as garbage with quiet bits.

what you can do if you have a windows machine, is go to start-programs-accessories-entertainment-sound recorder, then you open that file with it and go to file-sound properties. that should tell you the sound output, bitrate format and other things.

That's not going to help. RAW files carry no header, not to mention that it's an EXE I'm listening to.

I, in fact, tried to do that. It came out as a .4 second clip of "AAA!! sss... AAA! AAA! sss..."
