Patch for running Armadillo Run faster.

Postby Hyperkubus » Tue Mar 20, 2007 2:12 am

Someone I know has created this patch for armadillo run, running it 4 times faster (if your computer can handle it).
Instructions are as follows:
-Download the attachment
-Unpack the three files it to your armadillo run directory
-Run Speedup.bat

Now if you want to run the fast version of armadillo run you just need to run Armadillo speedup.exe in your armadillo run folder.

Notes:
-This patch was made for armadillo run 1.0.3, and using it on other versions may give unexpected results.
-If the simulation is too tough, armadillo run will limit the simulation speed, resulting in an even lower speed than normally. Thus, you'll want to run the normal version of armadillo run then.

(@Peter: If you want to know how it was done, just drop me a note and I'll explain)

Did you follow the steps? Copy the files to your armadillo folder, run speedup.bat, then it will make a file called armadillo speedup.exe. Run that.

Thanks Hyperkubus, this is great! I wish I had it yesterday when I was tweaking my B solution. Could have saved me a LOT of time.

Then double click Armadillo Speedup.exe

Maybe you need a zip instead of rar?

Try this one, and tell me what it says in the window.
I don't know what will happen when you have version 1.0.1. It might work, but it might not work too. I don't have that version so I can't test it.

Are you really sure you copied all three files to your armadillo run directory? This is probably C:\Program Files\Armadillo Run\
Could you also check that there is a file there called 'Armadillo Run.exe'?
