I've sent emails to both his addresses(enquiries@ and webmail@pstock). Let's hope for the best.

Meanwhile, buying Windows Vista didn't help much in the development process(and my wallet), and embedded visual c++ doesn't work anymore. Therefore, the project will(sadly) have to be built based on the .NET Framework(as much as I hate it). Seeing that AR was based on the OpenGL graphics engine, I think that Peter won't like it as much himself.

Awww man... At least I get support.

DX is still not considered in the D3D area(yet), but DDraw should and will probably be used. We'll see...

Hm. As I know, DirectDraw was exluded from DirectX libraries since v.8 or about so (at least, there isn't any DD in DirectX9 that I was working with). After that any 2D scene is rendering with 3D with Z=0; the D3DX Library contains class for working with 2D scenes - it's name is DXSprite. So what are you talking about :?:

AFAIK, the closest thing to DX that PPC users get is the Microsoft GAPI(game api). That's what I used to draw the versions so far, but if C# for Mobile Devices thinks otherwise, I'll have to adapt.

EDIT: Last post clarification: 3D is S-L-O-W on PPCs, imagine 3D with the sophisticated physics engine in AR4PPC.

persolnally my opinion: the best stuff for developing games for PPC, mobile phone or such things is Java. There is also OpenGL library for it, so it provides great possibilities for programmer

sorry, but I have to disagree. Even mobile phone can be used for 3D, not talking about PPC. You just need to use optimized models for the game and manage resourses correctly ;)

I have now cleared every development issue and has come to the following understanding: In order to have non-GAPI, managed, cool and fast 3D, the minimum requirement is Windows Mobile 5(like I have, luckily). If it works on Windows Mobile 2003 then everything will be great.

The menus and design issues are now worked out: Tension and timers are available through the right-clicking(long-clicking) of objects in the game, and so is removal(with a context menu). When I'll implement 3D, the menus(level and main) might have semi-transparent backgrounds, as in the original AR.

For now, before I'm going to implement 3D, I'll upload the latest pre-beta stage screenshot of AR4PPC(which is now also full screen)(it still works in Pocket PC 2003 Second Edition)(without a video no one can see its full potential, but I might need beta testers soon ;)(if Peter Stock agrees to acknowledge this as a real project so I won't have copyright issues(and add his physics engine) :()(too many parentheses).
