Thats the greatest airship yet - after my taste! Cool to look at!

Yeah, thanks for the nice comments. I've just noticed that it yaws a bit to the left, so I've tweaked with it a bit, and got rid of the rubber base of the wings, cos the airship doesn't really need it.

I made a small airship. But don't put anything on it since it's bound to crash. Smallest one I ever made.

That is pretty cool, as ive never been able to create something that small. That fits into the hold of my zeppelin (http://armadillo.metaclassofnil.com/for ... .php?t=709).... An airship in an airship... how queer..

sorry about the plagiarism

Postby dewbydo » Thu Nov 01, 2007 6:55 am

alright so i finally got my account, now i can show you guys this, now about the airship itself, most of the base design of the ship is from another guys creation sadly i couldnt find it again,so i cant put your name here whoever you are so thank you whoever you are, in the real level the airship drops a bunch of things onto a city, any who. In this one i tweaked it a bunch added some outter ballast/cargo, and made a train to carry it away, i also added two force "reels" to bring it in. Actually this is my first post so please respond as im eager to hear some constructive criticism

hope you like

The first big problem is with the airship, or more specifically, it's size.

It's way too heavy so it needs many (I counted 80!) rockets to lift it, let alone move it forward. You probably didn't have any replies until now because no one wants to run it. Having more than a dozen rockets is a bad idea. It taxes our computers heavily so the simulation takes forever.

Also, when I removed the cloth, I noticed the reels really didn't do that much.

Make a smaller airship.

i still dont agree

Postby dewbydo » Tue Nov 06, 2007 9:10 pm

i disagree, the airship that i modified contained waaaay more rockets because it had a very large payload, and lagged much worse, and it was praised as a significant creation, i agree that mine could use alot more work, and the fact that no one has posted so far is merely the fact that the forums have been slow recently

I like this airship very much and I haven't replied yet because I haven't seen it before. It's great :)
And it doesn't lag at all at me.

Good airship is big and good balanced airship, because it always looks amusing and hard to make

Sorry, that is true. Lag is my biggest factor, so that is what detracted from your airship in my case. Now that I think of it, I see how it would be hard to keep it straight and make it so it wouldn't break apart. Congrats to tweaking it so it would fly straight!
