yea, and if you play around with making a catcher for the minefield N league contest, there is a chance that a bulleting piece of rubber will skewer the cloth, at those speeds it will usually break, but sometimes it will just skewer itself.

Same with other material combinations, it generally happens due to high velocities, if it doesn't shatter itself or the object it collides with first.
