That's a very similar solution to the one I used BFC, which I just uploaded to the solutions page this morning, except that balance (and patience) meant I was able to use a short bit of rope where you said you've used a long one. I think you might have given me an idea of how to get it even cheaper though... *opens armadillo run*

I didn't read BFC's answer, but my solution for 0 left me $3928 remaining...

EDIT: No rope here, did it just by tweaking balance manually :P

Bob just posted a deceptively simple looking solution to Zero at the official site, 3940 points!

Now, should I post my $782 solution to Five? I fear I don't qualify ;)

My solution involved a full cloth housing for the 'dillo. And it worked on one of my first few tries, so I suppose I was lucky.

You could likely drop the hanging rope from the 3960 solution, but I don't feel like tweaking it just to save the $8

Oh I fully expect any solution that gets posted to have someone come in and tweak it for that $2 improve :)

I tried the balance only method and gave up after an hour, lol. Nice you got it to work out that way. If I can't get something to balance semi quickly I get frustrated. I lack the patience some of you guys have to get it "just" right.

I always find it amusing that there are just so many different solutions, even on ones like zero. This is really what keeps the game fresh.

My solution was a cradle with rockets near the goal that the armadillo fell into. I considered the single rocket idea while not at my computer but didn't think there was enough room over the ball to do it

New "Countdown Extra 1"

Postby Critters » Sat Jun 17, 2006 8:48 pm

Managed to do the Extra 1 - Crash with $220 to spare (+$12) level solution uploaded:

And Countdown 5, using Adam's idea, but with less rope and a more simple stopper. $758 spare (+$66)

(First post BTW, great game! :))

Great level set! I like the theme approach, and also the way it starts easy and gets progressively harder. Good work on the extra level and movie, too.
