How often do you use 'undo'

As someone who makes a lot of mistakes (I can't count the number of times I've drawn a line of metal bars instead of tab-selecting a group) I couldn't live without the undo button, I'm just interested in how other people feel towards it.

I know some people 'manually undo' most of there mistakes though eg: deleting, moving or re-adding the offending pieces.

I always have to move something so I go to the move mode, then when i'm done fixing it, I accidently leave the move mode on so I have to change it back to create new stucture mode.

So you like the mode buttons better than shift/ctrl?

on a similar topic, does anyone use the number keys to change materials?

I'm starting to get used to using the keyboard for the controls.

Just saw this topic...
Undo is obviously a lot more useful with 1.03, but I've always used it.
As for using number keys for changing materials, hell yeah! -- before I found out about that back when I first got the game, I got really frustrated with using the mouse all the time.
I almost cant bear to watch someone play this game that doesnt use the keys... its so much slower.
Same goes with start/stop, forces, slow motion... keys for all of em. The mouse stay firmly centre screen where it belongs.

ARFC for new players. (?off topic)

Im surprised to see that 23% never use undo. The undo button is essensial in tweaking. If you see that your last change is making stuff go the wrong way - undo and try oposite. Someone should write a "ARFC introduction for beginners" and " ARFC - taking it further". Many people new to AR come up with inventive and good solutions - but they are just not familiar to some principles that counts in the AR-universe, so their solution cant compete in cost. F.ex it is so to say nver to be seen a winning solution using long pieces of cloth - unlike in the real wolrd. Perhaps this should have an own thread. Im a litle off topic here
