Welcome to the 6th AR2 B league contest: DilloSort

Another dillo sorting level? Yes another....
-It's the only B level I have ready and tested
-Poc is absolutely NOT random
-I like the level a lot

AR2 Beta version is used. Cheapest solution wins. All solutions considered as light.
50$ penalty for every juckhammer which will be used in solution.

Prices are not changed. To complete level you need 8 dillos

It's Bagatelle!

I can't tell you how many times I thought about making a good bagatelle level in AR1, but it simply didn't work with one dillo. However with 8 it does. In theory anyway.

Random? Haha. Hahahaahaha. Really, I'm lauging aloud as I typed that.
Sure it can be solved without randomness, but the winning solution will require a very random start. But that's cool.
I had already decided that there was no way to put 3+ dillos into a level without creating some psuedo-random (chaotic is a better word) behaviour. The only way to do it would be to seperate the dillos so they never touch, but then that's really 3 seperate levels in one.
Multiple dillos are going to create chaos. But there is gameplay in controlling the chaos. It's one of the things AR2 added to the mix.

I haven't even attempted a solution yet, but I'm looking forward to this level. Good job I think. I'll let you know better later.

I don't know what bagatelle means? If I google it it is some kind of music?
The cheapest solution I could find is definately not random, but you wil probably prove me wrong...
Glad you like it so far :D

EDIT: Google images helped better than normal search, I know what you mean now.

This looks good Rob. Bagatelle is an indoor table game related to billiards/snooker from which the pinball machine was derived. Its in Wikipedia, I'm surprised you got no result when you did a search :?

Shall we start at oh, say, $1000 :lms: ? Love the level, I think I'll be pouring lots of time into this one! ;D

PS: The light medal has little value now, but it is still a nice eye-catcher to show there is a bid in the post!

I think this one is starting a little low on the bidding. So

Yikes Mark. What did you do? Haha. (Do you want some tips?)

I bumped it up to 1333 and thought that was still seriously low.

I'll leave it with Votarts 1444 now until we have a few more players declaring better scores than that.

I've done a solution with virtually no random bounces or collisions and got 1316, I may be able to swap a few materials around, especially in the catchers, but that would only add about 50. All of the Dillo's are guided so the solution is clean as a whistle, but :( very expensive.

These types of levels are good fun but we have had quite a run of them and I am starting to get a little uninspired by having to use 50% random luck rather than a 100% calculated solution over and over again. This is not a complaint against this level or any of the previous ones, just my opinion on how the contests have been recently.

Don't worry though, I will be trying my best to get a better solution for this one :) .

Thanks to god, it a B league level. Agree with mark, another random hell, in which I will participate because there are interesting things can be done.
Solve it is easy, create good solution - also no problem, create very good solution - will take hours and hours of tweaking.
