Sorry for being a day late with the results but here they are:

Technically there's two winners since I changed the level mid-competition..

decsystem10 wins with 4424 for the first level (The only solution to that level, I managed to mess up my POC...)
bythelee wins with 2960 for the second level, with mark_man just 2 behind.

Thank you guys for trying out my level and sending in solutions!

I'd be happy to make another competition if people don't have time to make the next. :)

Also, my POC is pretty decent this time..

Agreed - thanks for posting the first challenge of 2015!

The AR link disappeared off the side of my "quick links" browser bar. I think that's why I've been more absent than intended.

I will put some proper effort into finishing the big level I had planned. A mixture of easy and difficult/time consuming. Please bear with me for a day or three...

Restarting the forum looks possible, but it'll be "more of the same" with the three of us, and maybe a fourth now and then.

Perhaps more challenging levels, with a 7 day timescale, would work better?

At this point I would be happy with anything ,I'm missing the game and forum like crazy .I have been doing the demo levels as economically as possible ,as a stop gap

So, I've had a go at the original Spinning Lifter challenge.

Wow, those bar hoists are tweaky. Very prone to breaking at the worst possible moment.
My solution is perhaps not the most economical. And the "reinforcement" of the first lifter, to take the weight of the dillo, is still prone to breaking with a tiny weight change to the "catcher", long before the dillo climbs in for the lift.

In the end, it proved easier to anchor the next two lifters, than cope with their breaking chains in the middle of trying to flick the dillo to the portal.

4578 - I haven't even checked out dec10's solution yet, to see if it's competitive.
