Though I won't be able to put up a competition if I win, going on a short holiday to a close friend for 11 days.

LOLling at the idea of 11 days being a "short" holiday!
I've only ever had two holidays longer than that in my life. One bargain basement budget trip in 1987 as a bankrupt student, and a flotilla sailing holiday for 14 days in 2000.

But I hope you have a great time! (where's the green with envy jealousy smilie?)

I have a few ideas for getting to blue and red, but quite frankly it will be vastly more expensive than the +50 and +100 they are worth.
So, I'm fairly certain I'm missing something significant.

Haha. Well there's a mandate in norway, so you have 4 or 5 weeks every year as vacation time when working. Whilst the benefit I'm on doesn't really have that (special rules) I am allowed to take a vacation so long as it doesn't cause any issues and I'm "available" in case some work shows up.

So in that sense, both short and long vacation And thank you I will

Typically UK employees get 25 days holiday per year too. But I always had to take that in one week lumps because of family obligations.

The sailing holiday proved to me that the second week gives a vastly better holiday experience, though.

EDIT: The tweak only gained $10.
But I did get a working blue solution. Not even close to competitive, though.
