Another subdued challenge.
And all submitted entries went over the top, which was both surprising and ...disappointing.
I'm thinking the portal position made it too difficult to squeeze through - it was expensive building something to get the dillo from the hole that far to the side.
I had three squeeze POCs above 1700 - the best was a pulley, shockingly enough, scoring 1754.
But nothing could match the awesome rob-launcher of the winner.
1st, scoring a whopping 1824, was Mark_man. Congratulations!
2nd, scoring 1690, was Arunion. A deft double touch with a plate to steer the dillo carefully over the top didn't turn the uneconomic elastic into a winner, unfortunately.
I have a sneaking suspicion that a modest rob-launcher built to operate horizontally towards the portal, yanking a sling, could power the dillo with enough momentum to squeeze through the first pinch point (using a ramp, or maybe a bar-cloth "spring"). Escaping the second pinch was quite trivial, with gravity helping. I reckon it would be far cheaper than any of the POCs, but damned if I could build it.....
