It's still a nice way to while away the hours..... and I doubt many games can boast any sort of ongoing forum presence 8 years after release.
Obviously AR2 is now a shadow of it's former glory, but I don't see any "indie" games with the purity of the physics that AR has. Here's hoping Peter is still working on the successor he hinted at a year ago....
Meanwhile, here's the failing ideas that the "fluke" came from. Never did manage to get it to work, although the 1964 fail
might succeed with a cloth spacer to push the dillo further along the plate - but that would only equal the fluke.
It looks like there is a "perfect geometry" where the linked plates allow enough space for the dillo to fit in the portal (as in the fluke), but at that orientation it needs to be slightly further up the middle plate. I'm wondering if the "so close, and yet so far" was a fluke itself, or a dastardly bit of evil level design.
New challenge should be up by this evening (circa 9 hours away). Some last minute POC testing has shown it needs some balancing.
