I was worried that I had made rockets too cheap, and they did seem to attract many with their ease and speed of solution.
But, ultimately, Mark_man and Rob proved that a conventional rocket-free solution could not be beaten.
It was a very close thing, but the winner is:
Mark_man, scoring 1726. Congratulations!
Rob came second, with 1722.
And I borrowed Rob's catcher to bump up my own POC to 1718.
What is amazing is how different these three solutions are. While they all use the dominoes to form a bridge to the portal, the starts and finishes are quite unique. You might enjoy the expensive trebuchets in the early POCs too.....
And, the rocket temptation was not without it's benefits, because all of the rocket powered solutions are highly impressive too.
Ioncorpse bid up to 1692, but only submitted an elegantly simple 1666 solution. Thanks to Andrew and Arunion for their entertaining efforts too.
No two solutions are even similar, never mind alike (POCs excluded). In that respect, it's been a great challenge. Thanks for playing.
