I'm very surprised, though. Somehow I ended up on the right track again, even when thinking I was way off beam. I shall cease making predictions in future.
And borrowing an idea from Votart, it took less than a minute to tweak to 1728......
I hadn't realised the air drag would slow the horizontal motion so much, and was deliberately aiming to hit the edge of the box to stop the dillo. Doh!
I was working on a rotating cantilever, but couldn't get the counterweight to redeploy. Initially it looked like beating 1800, but the advantage was being eroded as problems like reach were being overcome. You might find the adjustable counterweight interesting, though!

OK here it is, it's actually 100% Tim's solution (from our AndrewandTim team) hence the name...
