Three nicely different solutions to a challenging problem.

Congratulations Votart, for a very novel approach.

Commiserations mark_man - I can guarantee you'll never forget that catcher.....
I learned about the "Indian Rope Trick" in a challenge last year. It only works when building right up against a border. And I forgot it works for rope too.

I had a feeling that my counterweight wasn't "optimal". But hours of tweaking had led me in the wrong direction.
And I gave up trying to make it work with a cloth sling.
I wish I knew how KuzyaHG makes it look so easy!

In the end it does look like Votart's method has the most potential for the best score.

PS:
Did any of you guys see/hear this morning's Meteor?
I gather it passed right over Votart (Yekaterinburg) around 9.20am local time.......
And Perm might have been close enough to see it...
It sounds like the actual landing in a lake near Chebarkul was very serious - I hope no-one you know was affected.
And if it had hit land or air-burst instead of hitting water, I think things could have been much worse. Another Tunguska 1908, perhaps.....

Thanks for the link!

 Wow

What a wake up call!

The sound from the balcony view is incredible.
The factory door being blown in is scary.
The car travelling on the motorway that gets the whole appearance and trail across the sky is awesome.
And the photos of the factory roof damage tells me it took a direct hit. I don't think the shockwave would destroy that much brickwork. Very lucky there were no casualties there.

So now we have Alien terrorists thowing bombs at us too....
