There are three way to pass the wave.

Break it, but you have to pay at least one penalty.
Surf the wave Rob and Votart are masters in this.
Or ... Dive under it , ioncorpse is diabolic

... a fourth way is misunderstanding the rules and break all, like the funny solution by Dave
(... may be a good idea for the next contest "a bonus for each cloth broken" )

1st ioncorpse 1354 with a masterpiece solution.

PS. I attached a tweak of Rob solution, but it can be tweaked again to reach 1352 using a catcher like in Votart solution

Rob, you are really very good in "lifters". Strange that you didn't get 1352 obvious 22 catcher.

That 1348 is tweak by paolof. I tried that catcher early on but it didn't work because the dillo had too much speed. Forgot about it later

Yes Rob, I tried a bit the catcher of Votart in the tweaked solution, without success, you are right the speed of dillo is too high.
